Remembering Dr. Sakti Das
IAUA mourns the loss of Dr. Sakti Das (1939 – 2024), graduate of medical college, Kolkata, India. After completing Urology residency at UCLA in 1978, he practiced Urology in Lafayette, CA. Dr. Das was a retired Professor of Urology at the University of California, Davis.

The IAUA Sushruta Award is given annually to a member of the IAUA in United States who has contributed significantly to the field of medicine and/or has performed noteworthy charitable work in the U.S. and abroad. This is decided by the Awards Committee.
Membership
The IAUA is composed of more than 350 members including urologists, residents and fellows in urology training and other medical professionals who devote 75% of their professional practice to urology and are of Indian origin

Our Mission
The Indian American Urological Association is an affiliate organization of the American Urological Association (AUA) that allows interaction of Indian urologists. IAUA provides education and surgical training through fellowship. IAUA’s goal is to represent all 600 Indian urologists practicing in the United States and to enhance and provide urological care through educational and charitable work not only in India but also in Southeast Asia and over the world.
